Information:
 The winch has four major assemblies: hydraulic motor and brake valve (7), brake cylinder with winch brake clutch (8), drum assembly with primary planetary gear and secondary planetary gears (9) and final drive housing with freespool assembly (10). Hydraulic motor (7) is bolted to the outer section of brake cylinder assembly (8). The motor end of cable drum (9) runs in a spherical bearing. The motor end of cable drum (9) is supported by brake cylinder assembly (8). The final drive end of drum (9) runs on a ball bearing. The final drive end of drum (9) is supported by final drive housing (10).

Secondary planetary gears walk around the ring gear that is machined in cable drum (14). Secondary planetary gears drive secondary planetary carrier (20). Secondary planetary carrier (20) drives output shaft (13). Output shaft (13) drives output sun gear (18) through the freespool clutch assembly. Output sun gear (18) drives output planetary gears (11) that walk around the output ring gear that is machined in final drive housing (10). Output sun gear (18) drives output planetary carrier (12) that is splined to cable drum (14).

Bank valve (2) 253-1766 Winch Control Valve Hydraulic oil pressure for the winch is provided by the implement pump. The combination valve group includes control valve (2) for control of the winch. The winch control valve directs the flow of oil to a motor on the winch. The direction of flow to the motor can be forward or reverse.

Location of winch switches (4) Reel in (5) Reel out (6) FreespoolSwitches (4), (5), and (6) are located on the right side of the cab. The operator uses the switches to control the winch. The switches send an electrical signal to the solenoids on the winch control valve. Switch (4) is a two-position rocker switch REEL IN - HIGH and REEL IN - LOW.
