(5) Bolt for the main bearing capThe cylinders in the left side of cylinder block (1) are positioned at a 65 degree angle from the right side of the engine.Spacer plate (2) is sandwiched between gaskets and mounts between the machined surface of the cylinder head and the deck of the cylinder block.Main bearing caps (4) are used to secure crankshaft (3) into the cylinder block. The main bearing caps are fastened to the cylinder block with main bearing bolts (5). Each main bearing cap is fastened to the cylinder block with two studs per cap.Cylinder Liners

(7) Connecting rodFor this engine, the cylinder is serviceable as a parts kit. Filler band (1) fits into machined surface that is at the top of the outside of cylinder liner (2). The filler band seals the top of the liner to the cylinder block. Three O-ring seals (3) are used to create a seal between the mid-section of the cylinder liner and the cylinder block. There are machined grooves in the outer wall of the sleeve that accommodate each O-ring seal. Engine coolant flows around the cylinder liners in order to dissipate heat that is created in the combustion chamber during combustion. These O-ring seals are used to provide a seal around the cooling jacket.The cylinder pack consists of the piston, piston rings, piston pin, piston rod, and cylinder liner.Piston rings (4) are installed in the ring grooves that are located in the top portion of piston (5). The piston rings fit tightly inside the cylinder. The two top rings seal the combustion chamber as the piston moves in the cylinder. The bottom ring scrapes the oil from the cylinder liner. The piston is attached to the small end of connecting rod (7). Piston pin (6) is used to create an articulated joint between the piston and the connecting rod. Two studs are
