System General Information
The machine is equipped with an electronically controlled cooling fan. The variable speed fan is operated hydraulically. The machine electronic control system regulates fan speed.Temperature information from the engine ECM and transmission ECM is sent to the machine ECM through CAN lines. The machine ECM calculates the correct fan speed based on temperature input signals from the following sensors:
Engine coolant temperature sensor
Intake manifold air temperature (IMAT) sensor
Ambient air temperature sensor
Generator oil temperature sensor
Hydraulic oil temperature sensorThe machine ECM transfers the fan speed result to the transmission ECM through CAN lines. The transmission ECM sends an output signal to the fan control solenoid. This proportional output signal is used to achieve proper cooling for the current operating conditions. The system is calibrated for a minimum fan speed of 800 25 rpm. Maximum fan speed is calibrated to 1800 25 rpm.
