start by:a) remove boom1. Remove and install the bearings in both ends of the boom as follows: a) Remove seals (1). b) Use tooling (A) as shown to remove bearings (2) from the machine end of the boom. Use tooling (C) to remove the bearings from the arm end of the boom. c) Be sure the bearing bores are free of dirt and paint. Use tooling (D) as shown to install the bearings in the machine end of the boom. Use tooling (G) to install the bearings in the arm end of the boom. d) Install the bearings in the machine end of the boom so dimension "X" is 11.0 0.5 mm (.433 .020 in.). Install the bearings in the arm end of the boom so dimension "X" is 11.9 0.5 mm (.469 .020 in.). e) Use tooling (E) to install the seals in both ends of the boom with the lip of each seal out as shown.2. Remove and install the bearings in the center of the boom as follows: a) Put the 5P7398 Bearing Puller Adapter, part of tooling (B), behind the bearing and install the 9S5558 Stud in the adapter. Install the remainder of tooling (B) and remove the bearing. Remove the other bearing the same way. b) Be sure the bearing bore is free of dirt and paint. Lower the temperature of the new bearings before they are installed. Use tooling (F) as shown to install the bearings so they are tight against their seats.end by:a) install boom
