INSPECT PARTS STOCKS OF 4T5805 ADAPTERS; PI 7080 CORRECT FIT ADAPTERS AVAILABLE FOR 615 SCRAPERS; PS0209, 6808 U-13 optional Although this Service Letter is designated OPTIONAL all parts stocks of the adapters should be inspected. Problem Cutting edge teeth are an attachment on 615 Scrapers. The early 4T5805 Adapters for the teeth do not fit correctly on the cutting edge. The current 4T5805 Adapters have correct dimensions and notching of the cutting edge is not needed. (The 9J2307 Adapter shown in the Parts Book is not used). Affected Scrapers 615 Scrapers, 47Z1 - about 47Z930. Action Requested (Parts Stock Action Needed) A.) First, inspect all parts stocks of 4T5805 Adapters. Remove from stocks all these adapters with the number "0" or "1" near the part number. Any adapters with the number "2" or higher are satisfactory. B.) No action is needed on any scrapers until the cutting edge needs to be turned or replaced. When this occurs, the user can install new adapters that are known to be a correct fit. Five adapters are needed. Warranty Allowances A.) Submit one separate claim for any unsatisfactory adapters in parts stocks. Type PI7080 in the box "Part No. Causing Failure". B.) When the cutting edge was turned or replaced, if the adapters were worn and would have been replaced under normal repairs, no credit is allowable. If the adapters were not worn and are marked "0" or "1" near the part number, list the five new adapters. Type PS0209 in the box labeled "Part No. Causing Failure". No labor is allowed regardless of the reason for replacing the adapters. Parts Disposition Dispose of any unsatisfactory adapters in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts disposition. If requested to scrap the adapters, cut them into two pieces.
