Installation Procedure
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Install the receiver to the scraper bowl. The receiver weighs 82 kg (180 lb). Install eight nuts (6) to receiver (3) .

Tighten two set screws (5) and two nuts (4) .

Install hose assembly (2) to receiver (3) . Install spring (1) to hose assembly (2) .Note: The receivers must be adjusted by the following procedure. In order to adjust the receivers, the spindle, the service brakes, the wheel and the tire and rim must be installed to each side of the machine.Note: Check the air pressure in the tires. The tires must have equal pressure and the pressure must be within the correct specifications before adjusting the cutting edge.
Measure the distance from each edge of the cutting edge to the ground. The correct distance for the measurement should be 152 mm (6 inch) .
If the cutting edges are not set at the correct height or at the correct angle, the receivers need to be adjusted.
Place suitable cribbing under the cutting edge. Place the weight of the scraper bowl on the cribbing. Adjust the receivers when the weight of the scraper bowl is off of the wheels. Place the weight of the scraper bowl on the wheels. Measure the distance between the cutting edges and the ground. Repeat the procedure until the correct measurement is obtained.End By: Install the spindle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Spindle - Install". The information is in this manual.
