(7HR) Wheel LoadersReference: Service Manual Module, SENR1371, "Vital Information Display System (VIDS)."Service Manual Module, SENR6059-03, "Vital Information Management System (VIMS)".
This announcement is an explanation of the differences between the Vital Information Display System (VIDS) and Vital Information Management System (VIMS).
VIMS and VIDS both use VIMS 3.0 hardware which includes the 130-5131 (VIMS/VIDS Main Module) Electronic Control Group and 138-1756 (VIMS/VIDS Interface Module) Electronic Control Group. The major difference is VIDS uses only one interface module and about 10 sensors. VIMS uses two interface modules and a greater number of sensors.
VIDS Offers the mechanic/operator the ability to view:
* 10 sensors.* Chronological event log at the dash.* Active data/system event display. * ECM summary and system evaluation with ET.VIMS offers the VIDS capabilities plus other advanced software features including:
* 50 additional sensors.* Payload monitoring.* A 30 minute Data Logger.* 2 Six minute Event recorders (EVR'S).* A service lamp to alert maintenance personnel that VIMS has detected an active event.* The use of an off-board service tool (VIMS-PC) to:a. Download information used to track every sensor and allow the user to examine the status. This information can be used to assist in troubleshooting.b. Allow the service technician to download all listed events. This is useful in creating a historical database. VIDS does not do this. VIMS also allows management for serviceability and production.
