Note: Do not “TUNE” or manually change the cracking amperages of the solenoids. The Cat ET calibration tunes for both manual and auto mode. If you change the amperages you may lose controllability in either modes.If the troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, contact your dealer technical communicator (TC) to submit a service request to the machine service group. Include the following information if possible.
A product status report with the front linkage configuration
CGC Boom, Stick, Bucket Sensor Calibration Values. Take picture of monitor screens or document at Service >> Cat Grade Control System >> CGC Calibrations >> Boom/Stick/Bucket Sensor
Video capturing CGC Screen to show accuracy and the bucket movement
Video showing operator joystick input and bucket movement
Picture showing final grade pass inaccuracies and soil characteristicsPerform and include a data log with the following parameters when the issue occurs:
Pilot sensor command pressures on EH ECM or Machine ECM with Tool Control System
Boom Regeneration Pressure Command on Machine ECM
Hydraulic Oil Temperature on Machine ECM
Ambient Air Temp on Machine or Engine ECMReference Section
Bucket Measure-Up (If Required)
Note: The new Implement ECM (A5M1) "CGA ECM" software file utilizes an accurate bucket measure-up. If bucket measure up is needed, refer to "Configuring Cat ®Grade Control with New Simplified Bucket Measure-Up Software Released April 2014 or Later" within Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU8358, " Machine Monitoring System Configuration".
