The bail of the Wheel Tractor-Scraper is controlled by the trigger on the joystick. The trigger on the joystick sends a switched signal to the Transmission/Chassis ECM. The signal is sent to the normally closed connector contact J1-54 and the normally open connector contact J1-38. When the operator squeezes the trigger on the joystick, the state of the switch will change. The ECM sends a signal in order to change the elevation of the bail to the (bail) solenoid through a connector contact J2-60, and turns on the Bail Lowering/ Auger Turning Lamp through a connector contact (J2-62) as the Bail Solenoid being de-energized.When the Wheel Tractor-Scraper is started, the bail is de-energized and the indicator is on (since the solenoid is de-energized). When the operator pushes the bail switch (trigger), the bail will be energized and the indicator goes off. When the operator pushes the bail switch (trigger) again, the bail will be de-energized and the indicator turns and stays on. When the keyswitch is placed in the OFF position, the Transmission/ Chassis ECM will keep the solenoid in the current state for five seconds. After five seconds, the ECM will de-energize the solenoid.Note: The Transmission/Chassis ECM will place the bail in the down position when the engine is started. The bail solenoid is de-energized when the bail is down.
