PEDAL AS 6R5668 - Caterpillar

Cover holds springs that are under compression. Hold the cover while removing the bolts to prevent spring ejection and personal injury.
1. Remove bolts (1) from the cover plate. Remove cover plate (2) and the gasket. 2. Remove springs (3) and plungers (4). Note the location of each plunger so they can be installed in the same bore.3. Check the plungers and housing for dirt and foreign material. Check the springs. See Specifications. The following steps are for installation of the oil filters and cooler bypass valves.4. Install plungers (4) and springs (3) in their original bores. 5. Install new gasket (5) and the cover.
