PILOT A 8T3168 - Caterpillar

start by:a) remove valve covers 1. Disconnect the glow plug wire from the glow plug and clip (2) from fuel line (1). Remove line (1) with tool (A).
Put protective caps on all fuel line openings.
2. Remove nut (5) that holds valve (3) in precombustion chamber (4). 3. Remove valve (3) with tool (B).Install Fuel Injection Valves
1. Install nozzle (2) on valve body (1) finger tight.2. Install the valve body in the precombustion chamber. Be sure the grooves (serrations) on body (1) are in alignment with the grooves (serrations) in the precombustion chamber. 3. Install nut (3) in the precombustion chamber and tighten to a torque of 55 5 lb.ft. (75 7 N m).4. Install fuel line (5). Tighten the fuel line nuts to a torque of 30 5 lb.ft. (75 7 N m) with tool (A).5. Connect the glow plug wire to the glow plug and clip (4) to the fuel line. Be sure the wire is clear of the valve springs.
