Parking Brake
The parking brake is mounted immediately behind the oscillating hitch in the rear frame. The parking brake is self-adjusting and spring engaged. The parking brake has two brake pads and the parking brake is hydraulically released. The two brake pads are mounted in a sliding caliper which clamps a disc which is bolted to the drive shaft.During normal operation, the parking and secondary brake control must be used for parking only. Engage the parking brake after the machine has stopped. Disengage the parking brake before you drive the machine.The parking brake is engaged when the engine is not running and the machine is stopped.The parking brake is not engaged when the engine is running .When the engine is running and the parking and secondary brake control is moved to the ENGAGED position, the secondary brakes are engaged.When you are loading or unloading the machine you should move the parking and secondary brake control to the ENGAGED position.Secondary Brake
If the service brakes fail to stop the machine, the parking and secondary brake control must be moved to the ENGAGED position. The tractor wheel brakes will be engaged. Note: There will only be pressure for five applications of the secondary brake, if the engine has stopped.If the machine is stopped with the secondary brakes, do not operate the machine again until the following conditions occur:
The service brakes are operating correctly.
The parking brake is operating correctly.Note: The parking brake will automatically be engaged after the engine is shut off.
