Series G Motor Graders Equipped with Automatic Blade ControlIf the coil in either the right or left solenoid valve of the Automatic Blade Control has a short circuit, more current than is normal can flow into the 9D6720 Junction Box. This causes a failure of the junction box. To repair this failure, you must install a new junction box and solenoid valve. At this time, add in-line fuses to the circuit to prevent future failures. The procedure that follows tells how to do this:
1. Use the Service Manual for Automatic Blade Control, Form SENR7065-01, to remove the 9D6720 Junction Box and the 8J9341 Solenoid Valves and install the new parts.2. Install fuse holders with 1.5 amp fuses at the locations that follow: Use page 61 of the Service Manual for Automatic Blade Control, Form SENR7065-01, to find the terminals.A. Between terminal H of J5 and terminal A of J11.B. Between terminal I of J5 and terminal A of J12.Future Automatic Blade Controls will have improved circuits to prevent this problem.
