Remove purging screw (1) from each of the steering cylinders.
Install a 8T-0850 Pressure Gauge into each of the holes for the purging screws.
Do not turn the steering wheel when the engine is running and a low pressure gauge has been installed in the steering circuit. If the steering wheel is turned, the pressure of the oil to the steering cylinders will be too high for a low pressure gauge.
Operate the engine at high idle. Check the pressure readings on the two pressure gauges. The pressure gauges should read 540 100 kPa (78.3 14.5 psi).

If the pressure reading is out of tolerance, stop the machine and shut off the engine. Complete the following procedure.
Remove cover (3) from steering control valve (2) .
Add spacers (4) in order to increase the pressure. Remove spacers (4) in order to decrease the pressure.

Install cover (3) to steering control valve (2) .
Purge the steering system.
Recheck steering time at high idle.
Repeat step 3 through step 4 until pressure is correct.
The difference between the pressure in the right cylinder and the pressure in the left cylinder cannot exceed 35 kPa (5 psi). If the pressure is out of tolerance, complete the following procedure.
Remove cover (3) from steering control valve (2) .
Add shims (5) if the pressure for a left turn is higher than the pressure for a right turn. Remove shims (5) if the pressure for a left turn is lower than the pressure for a right turn.
Install cover (3) to steering control valve (2) .
Purge the steering system.Steering System Pressure

Move the machine to a flat, dry surface. Shut off the engine and engage the parking brake.

Remove cap (6) from the tee. Install a 8T-0852 Pressure Gauge to the tee.
Start the engine and operate the engine at high idle. Raise the bowl and release the brakes.
Turn the machine toward the left until the left turn stops hit. Continue steering to the left. The pressure gauge should read 13500 170 kPa (1958 25 psi).

(2) Steering control valve (8) Nut (9) Retainer
If the pressure reading is out of tolerance, stop the machine and shut off the engine. Loosen nut (8) and adjust retainer (9) in order to change the steering system pressure. Turn retainer (9) clockwise in order to increase the steering system pressure. Turn retainer (9) counterclockwise in order to decrease the steering system pressure. One turn of retainer (9) will change the pressure 3450 kPa (500 psi).
