1 - 3E-8044 Stud Before assembly, apply red Loctite 271 to the threads.
2 - - Use the following procedure in order to tighten the bolts that fasten the plate to the cylinder block.
Tighten the eight locking bolts to 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft).
Again, tighten the eight locking bolts to 55 N m (41 lb ft).

3 - - During assembly, the rear face of the housing and the front face of the cylinder block must be free of oil, fuel, water, dirt, assembly compounds, and any other contaminants.
Apply ultra blue Loctite 587 in order to fill the space at the connecting joint of the front plate, oil pan gasket, and cylinder block.
After assembly, trim the gasket and flush the gasket with the face of the housing.
