Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Water pumps may leak as a result of damaged face seals. Relative movement between the shaft and the housing may allow the drive shaft to contact the face seal in the water pump. If contact occurs, the face seal will be damaged, and very early hour failures can result.
Note: Do not lift the auxiliary water pump by the shaft. Do not bump the shaft when installing the auxiliary water pump onto the engine.

Install the O-ring seal on auxiliary water pump (5) . Apply a light coat of glycerin to the O-ring seal.
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to auxiliary water pump (5) . The weight of auxiliary water pump (5) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb). Align auxiliary water pump (5) in the front housing.
Install bolts (4) in auxiliary water pump (5) . Tighten the bolts to a torque of 35 5 N m (26 4 lb ft).
Install the O-ring seals, adapter (7) , bolts (8) , and bolts (6) .
Install the O-ring seals, elbow (2) , and bolts (1) .
Connect the tube assembly to elbow (2) and install bolts (3) .
Fill the cooling system to the correct level with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
