A new 5P8626 Tool Bit (see illustration) is available for use with the 8S3140 Counterboring Tool Arrangement to machine the heavier 5P6595 and 5P8607 Liner Seat Inserts. The 5P6595 and 5P8607 Liner Seat Inserts are made of a harder material than the cylinder block or the standard liner inserts and are used on the 5.75" and 6.25" bore engines. The new tool bit is made of a harder grade of carbide which will give a longer tool life than the 8S3165 Tool Bit when used to machine the heavier inserts. The 8S3165 Tool Bit is still available to machine the cylinder block and standard liner inserts. The new 5P8626 Tool Bit can be used in all tool holders used with the 8S3140 Counterboring Tool Arrangement.
