ACTION REQUIRED
1. Before going to the engine, download all necessary software from SIS Web as called out in the Parts Needed for the Affected Product group.
Note: SIS Web only displays the latest file available.
2. Prior to updating the software, save ECM replacement files for the engine (in Cat ET: Use Service, Copy Configuration, ECM Replacement, click "yes" to load from ECM, select ECM then save to file).
Note: Failure to create ECM replacement files could result in a loss of configuration information, which would require DSN assistance and unnecessary machine downtime.
3. Flash engine with the necessary software.
4. After updating engine software, create a full Product Status Report in Cat ET for the engine. The Product Status Report should include diagnostic and event codes and historgrams.
5. Submit Product Status Report with warranty claim.
