Some of the C13 powered machines are having excessive oil soot residue found in the exhaust manifold and small metal debris are found. The engine can also have high crank case pressure. The valve stem seals may not have been installed correctly or could be damaged.Resolution
If the engine has excess oil soot residue found in the exhaust manifold, ensure that the engine is not idling for long periods of time. If the slobber continues under normal load and full open thermostats, then remove valve cover and check the valve stem seal (A). If the seal and small spring are damaged or missing, the parts will need to be replaced.
