Removal Procedure
Start By:
Release the system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".
Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Tank - Remove and Install".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the removal procedure, the exterior of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, and on all harness assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Remove cover assembly (1). Remove plate (2).

Remove plate (3).

Disconnect hose assemblies (4). Disconnect harness assemblies (5).

Disconnect hose assemblies (7) from accumulator charging valve (6).

Remove bolts (8) and remove accumulator charging valve (6).
