Exhaust Manifold Bolt Tightening Procedure
Exhaust manifold bolt tightening sequence.1. Apply a thin coat of 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the threads of the exhaust manifold bolts.2. Tighten all the bolts in numerical sequence as shown in Illustrations and 2, to a torque of 4 1 N m (35 9 lb in).3. Tighten all the bolts again in numerical sequence to a torque of 45 5 N m (33 4 lb ft). See the illustration.4. Bend the lock tabs over the flats of the bolt heads. If necessary, tighten the bolt more until a flat on the bolt head lines up with a lock tab.
