Wheel LoadersA conversion group is available to replace earlier turbochargers with water cooled turbochargers. The new turbochargers have a center housing which uses engine coolant to control the temperature of the turbocharger bearings and seals. This will help prevent bearing and seal damage that is caused from high temperatures, especially when the engine is stopped too soon after operation in very heavy load conditions.
The Operation Guide gives information about operation of the engine for five minutes at low idle before the engine is stopped. The primary purpose of this instruction is to permit a cooling period for protection of the engine and turbocharger. When the engine is stopped too soon after operation in heavy load conditions, high temperatures can cause the development of carbon from the oil around the turbocharger bearings and can damage the seals.
The 4W6727 Turbocharger Conversion Group is adaptable to all 992C Wheel Loaders. Special Instruction, Form SEHS8359, shows the parts and gives installation instructions.
