Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Open engine hood (1) of the machine. Lock the engine hood in the OPEN position.
Close the fuel shutoff valve.

The counterweight is removed for photographic purposes.Note: Cap all fuel lines and cap all fuel fittings that are disconnected in order to prevent fuel loss. This will also keep contaminants out of the fuel system.
Disconnect hose assembly (2) .
Loosen the hose clamp in order to disconnect hose (5) .
Remove two nuts (3) and the two washers.
Remove fuel priming pump (4) and the O-ring.Installation Procedure
Replace the O-ring seal with a new O-ring seal. Install the O-ring seal on the fuel priming pump.

Install the two washers and two nuts (3) .
Connect hose (5). Tighten the hose clamp.
Connect hose assembly (2) .
Open the fuel shutoff valve.
