This Program must be administered as soon as possible.When reporting the repair, use "PI10684" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty ClaimDescription Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code.
Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI10684" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number,"96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
PROBLEM
The governor actuator needs to be replaced on certain 3508, 3512, and 3516 mechanical engines being used in electric power and petroleum applications. The existing actuator can cause hard starting, failure to start, instability, and/or inability to accept load, which may result in personal injury or death.

ACTION REQUIRED
****Parts Stock ****
Check the serial number of all 7W-6722 actuators in Dealer Parts Stock. The serial number is recorded on the part number identification plate on the governor actuator housing (refer to Image 1).
If the serial number is between 14898182 and 14957658, remove the actuator from parts stock. All actuators that are within the given range must be returned to the address provided in the Parts Disposition.

****Affected Product****
1. Check the actuator serial number located on the housing (refer to Image 1 below). If serial number IS NOT between 14898182 and 14957658 DO NOT replace the actuator.
2. If the serial number of the actuator is between 14898182 and 14957658, replace the actuator and gasket. Refer to SENR2365 for disassembly and assembly instructions.
3. Record the serial number of the replaced actuator in the service report. Also include the serial number of the replaced actuator in the claim story.
4. Send replaced actuator to address provided in the Parts Disposition.
IMPORTANT Verify that the serial number of the replacement actuator that is being installed IS NOT between 14898182 and 14957658.
