Engine All 3600 All C280 All G3600Description Of Change: New connecting rod assemblies have been released for 3600, C280, and G3600 Engines. The new connecting rod assemblies use a longer bolt and a castle nut that is hydraulically tensioned. This change improves clamp load variability, reduces assembly time, eliminates tool variability, reduces bolt stress, and eliminates bolt lubrication variability.Adaptable To: A new hydraulic pump and tension kit that are listed in Table 1 is required to service the new rod assembly.

(6) 205-0640 NutNote: The new hydraulic tensioned connecting rod assembly is not compatible and cannot be mixed with the previous connecting rod assemblies due to the bolt and nut weight difference. The new hydraulic tensioned rod bolt and nut can be used to replace the old torque turn rod bolt and nut to upgrade previous rod assemblies for hydraulic tensioning. All bolts in the engine must be the same.The torque turn bolts and nuts remain serviceable. Reference SEBD9992 for the recommended torque turn procedure if applicable.Reference , SEBF8301 for questions on reusability of either style bolt.The torque turn rod and hydraulic tensioned rod part numbers are listed in Table 2.Options for bolts and nuts are listed in Table 3.
