Remove the existing steps from the machine, disassemble and remove the mounting brackets. Reassemble step using new mounting brackets and hardware, and reinstall on to the machine.

The step mounting brackets need to be replaced on certain 854K Wheel Dozers, 992K Wheel Loaders, 993K Wheel Loaders, and 994H Wheel Loaders. The existing brackets can interfere with access and egress to the machine and may, in conjunction with other factors or circumstances, result in a risk of personal injury or death. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 07Dec2011 when scheduling this service.
