1. Open doors (1) and (2) on the right side of the machine. 2. Disconnect and cap three hose assemblies (3), (4) and (5) from the pilot pump.3. Remove two nuts (6) and the pilot pump from the machine. For installation of the pilot pump reverse the removal procedure.Disassemble Pilot Pump
Start By:a. remove pilot pump The direction of rotation of the pilot pump is clockwise as seen from the drive end of the pump. 1. Remove nuts (1) and adapter (2) from the pump. 2. Use Tool (A) to remove the snap ring from the pump shaft. Remove coupling (3) and the key from the pump shaft. 3. Put marks on the pump body and cover so the cover will be installed correctly. Remove bolts (4) and cover (5) from the pump body. 4. Remove seals (6) from the cover. 5. Remove pump gears (7) and (8) and the bearing blocks from the pump body. Put identification on the bearing blocks so they will be installed in their original position on the pump gears. 6. Remove bearing blocks (9) from the pump gears. Remove O-ring seals (10) from the bearing blocks.Assemble Pilot Pump
Put clean oil on all pump parts during assembly. 1. Install the O-ring seals on bearing blocks (1) and install the bearing blocks on pump gears (2) and (3) in their original position. 2. Assemble pump gears (2) and (3) and the bearing blocks as shown. 3. Install the pump gears and bearing blocks in the pump body as shown. Fitting (4) is the smaller fitting and is in the pump outlet port. 4. Use Tooling (A) to install the seals in cover (5) with the lip of each seal in as shown. Install the second seal so there is a space between the seals and the drain hole between the seals is open. Oil leakage at the drain hole is an indication of a seal failure. 5. Install O-ring seal (6) on the cover and four O-ring seals (7) on the pump body. Put the cover in position on the pump body and install the bolts that hold it in place. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 25 7 N m (18 5 lb ft). Be sure the pump shaft will turn after the bolts are tightened. 6. Put the key and coupling (8) in position on the shaft and use Tool (B) to install the snap ring to hold the coupling in place. 7. Put the gasket and adapter (9) in position on the pump cover as shown and install the washers and nuts that hold the adapter in place.End By:a. install pilot pump
