10. Remove the nut, bolt and two washers (7) from the pin that holds the top of the rear suspension cylinder to the frame.
Typical Example.11. Fasten a hoist to rear suspension cylinder (8), and remove the top pin.12. Use the hoist to lower the top of the rear suspension cylinder. Lower the top of the cylinder until it is even with the bottom pin on the differential housing.
Typical Example13. Fasten a nylon strap and tooling (B) to the hoist and rear suspension cylinder (8) as shown.14. Remove the nut, bolt (10) and two washers (9) from the pin that holds the rear suspension cylinder to the differential housing.
Typical Example15. Remove pin (11), and remove rear suspension cylinder (8) from the machine. The weight of the rear suspension cylinder is approximately 666 kg (1470 lb).Install Rear Suspension Cylinders
Typical Example1. Fasten a hoist and tool (B) to rear suspension cylinder (8) as shown.2. Put the rear suspension cylinder in position on the differential housing, and install the pin that holds it in place.3. Put two washers (9) in position on the ends of the pin, and install bolt (10) and the nut.4. Remove tool (B) from the bottom of the rear suspension cylinder.

Install the pin. 6. Put washers (7) in position in the ends of the pin, and install the bolt and the nut. 7. Install bolts (4) and plate (5).8. Connect connector (3). 9. Connect the lubrication lines to the ends of the rear suspension cylinder.10. Install guard (2) and three bolts (1).11. Remove the two 50 ton screw jacks from under the machine.12. Charge the rear suspension cylinders with oil and nitrogen. To prevent possible personal injury, make sure all of the nitrogen has been released from the cylinder before it is disassembled.
1. Remove the guard from the rear suspension cylinder. 2. Use tool (A), and remove snap ring (1) from each side of bearing (2).3. Remove bearing (2) from the end of the cylinder. 4. Put the rear suspension cylinder in position on tooling (B) as shown. Photo C17797P2 shows a 789 rear suspension cylinder.5. Remove valve assemblies (4) and plate (5).6. Remove the bolts that hold manifold (6) to the rod assembly.7. Remove the O-rings from manifold (6).8. Remove valve assembly (7).9. Remove the bolt and spacer (8).10. Remove the bolts and two cover assemblies (3). Remove the O-rings from cover assemblies (3). 11. Use tool (B) and extend the cylinder.12. Put stand (10) in position under the rod assembly as shown.13. Remove bolts (9) that hold the head to the
