the key start switch to the OFF position.
Visually inspect the mechanical connections for the left steering cylinder. Verify the following:
All mechanical connections and adjustments for the steering cylinder are in good condition.
None of the mechanical connections are loose.Expected Result:All mechanical connections for the steering cylinder are in good condition and no mechanical connections are loose. Results:
OK - All mechanical connections for the steering cylinder are correct. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - All mechanical connections for the steering cylinder are not correct.Repair: Perform the maintenance that is required in order to correct the problem with the mechanical connections for the steering cylinder. After the problem has been corrected, verify that this diagnostic code is still active before proceeding with this procedure.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK FOR POWER AT THE SENSOR
The disconnect switch and the key start switch remain in the OFF position.
Do not disconnect the harness connector from the sensor.
At the back of the harness connector for the sensor, insert 7X-1710 Multimeter Probes along the contact of the supply 1 (wire 799-BK). Insert a multimeter probe along return contact 2 (wire A202-BK).
Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Measure the voltage from contact 1 to contact 2.Expected Result:The voltage measurement is 10 0.5 DCV.Results:
OK - The voltage measurement is 10 0.5 DCV. The power supply circuit is correct. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - The voltage measurement is not 10 0.5 DCV. The power supply circuit is not correct.Repair: There is a problem with the power supply circuit for the sensor. Refer to the Electrical Schematic of the machine. Check all of the connections that are in the power supply circuit and the return circuit. Inspect the connections for the following:
Connections are clean.
Connections are secure.
Connections are in good condition.Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK THE SENSOR
Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Mark the harness connector for the left steering sensor.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the position sensor of the left steering cylinder.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the position sensor of the right steering cylinder.
Connect the marked connector for the left steering sensor to the connector for the right steering sensor.
Connect the unmarked connector for the right steering sensor to the connector for the left steering sensor.
Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.Note: Do not start the engine.
Observe the status of the active diagnostic code for the left steering sensor.Expected Result:When the harness connectors are switched, the CID 2200 FMI 02 diagnostic code for the left steering sensor is not active. A CID 2201 FMI 02 diagnostic code for the right steering sensor is now active. Results:
OK - The CID 2200 FMI 02 diagnostic code is no longer active. A CID 2201 FMI 02 diagnostic code is now active. The sensor has failed.Repair: The position sensor of the left steering cylinder is the
