G3500 Family AllDescription of Change: A new dowel that meters the oil is available for the above engines. This new metering dowel has a larger orifice that will provide an increased supply of engine oil to the rocker shaft and to the rocker arm bearings. The increased supply of engine oil will provide a better film of oil that will decrease the wear of the rocker shaft and of the rocker arm bearings.Adaptable To: The new 197-7008 Dowel is a direct replacement for the previous 7N-2049 Dowel. The 197-7008 Dowel is adaptable to all 3500 Engines. The new dowel can be used in order to service a single cylinder or the new dowel can be used in order to service all of the cylinders. The new 197-7008 Dowel is effective with the engines that are listed in Table 1, Table 2, Table 3, and Table 4.
