A new walkway assembly (9) is now used in the walkway group. One new plate (7) is used in the new walkway assembly that contains slots. One new plate (8) in the new walkway assembly has been narrowed. The new walkway assembly will improve the assembly of the walkway group.The size of the hole in block (4) in the walkway assembly that holds retaining pin (3) for the rear handrail has been enlarged. The angle of the hole in the block was changed from 45 degrees to 60 degrees. The two changes will allow the following.
The rear handrail will tilt forward.
The rear handrail will not touch the cab.
The retaining pin (3) for the rear handrail will latch.A new spring (5), a new rod end (6) and new washers (2) are now used in order to attach the rear handrail (1). The holes in the rear handrail have been changed in order to improve the assembly of the rear handrail.Adaptable To: The new 298-3859 Walkway As (9) is a direct replacement for the former 240-4798 Walkway Gp in the 240-4787 Walkway Gp .The new 296-5446 Spring (5) is a direct replacement for the former 4F-2943 Spring in the 240-4797 Handrail Fastener Gp. The new 5L-3946 Rod End (6) is a direct replacement for the former 1P-7403 Eyebolt in the 240-4797 Handrail Fastener Gp. Four new 5P-1076 Hard Washers (2) have been added to the 240-4797 Handrail Fastener Gp. The holes in the 244-2233 Handrail As (1) that is part of the 240-4795 Handrail Gp were reduced in size in order to improve assembly.All of the changes are adaptable back to the beginning of production of the machines. All of the changes became effective in production with the machine FDB469-UP.
