Introduction
Cab lights are available to supplement the standard boom and frame mounted lighting when working at night. These lights can be added to any of the above listed excavators by obtaining the listed parts and following the instructions in this publication.Do not perform any procedure, outlined in this publication, or order any parts until you have read and understood the information contained within.Reference: Service Manual and Parts Manual.Parts Needed
Installation
1. Turn the electrical disconnect switch to the OFF position. 2. Assemble the left lamp group bracket assembly using 4I6835 Bracket Assembly (7), 4I4766 Bracket Assembly Left (9), and 4I3118 Support Assembly (8), with 8T4121 Washer (10) and 964883 Nut (11).3. Install 9X6775 Lamp Group (2) to left group bracket assembly using 8T6912 Bolt (5), 8T4224 Washer (4), and 5C7261 Nut (3).4. Assemble the right lamp group using 4I6835 Bracket Assembly (7), 4I4767 Bracket Assembly Right (6), 4I3118 Support Assembly (8), and 9X6775 Lamp Group (2) with 8T4121 Washer (10) and 964883 Nut (11).5. Install 9X6775 Lamp Group (2) to right group bracket assembly using 8T6912 Bolt (5), 8T4224 Washer (4), and 5C7261 Nut (3).6. Install the left and right lamp assemblies on the cab roof using existing 8T4136 Bolts and 8T4121 Washers.7. Install 7Y8245 Harness Assembly (1) to the left and the right lamp group/bracket assemblies using 8M2771 Clip (12), 9X8256 Washer (13), and T4171 Bolt (14). Make sure to leave an adequate amount of slack in the harness on both sides of clip (12). 8. Open the roof hatch. Disconnect wiper connector (A).9. Remove rubber strip (B) from roof hatch opening.10. Loosen the four torx screws (C) and remove the front header panel (D).11. Pull out the four front clips (E) from both sides of roof panel (F). Allow roof panel (F) to hang down from the roof. 12. Remove retaining clip (G) from connector (H). Remove plug (J) from the end of connector (H). Discard the plug.13. Remove rubber plug (K) from the roof and discard the plug.14. Insert the end of 7Y8245 Harness Assembly (1) through the hole in the roof.15. Connect the connector (L) to connector (H). Secure this connection by installing retaining clip (G).15. Repeat Steps 12 through 14 for the lamp wiring on the other side.16. Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position. Turn the chassis light switch to the ON and OFF position to verify that the new installed lights turn on and off along with the chassis lights in front of the storage compartment.17. Apply silicon sealant around the plug attached to each harness assembly (1). Insert the plug into the hole in the roof on each side.18. Install the roof panels and retaining clips.19. Install front header panel (D) and the four torx screws (C).20. Install rubber strip (B) from roof hatch opening.21. Connect wiper connector (A) and close the roof hatch.
