Indication of the Condition
There is no display on the oil mist detector. None of the LED indicators are illuminated.Probable Causes
The electrical connections are improper and/or there is a problem with the wiring.
There is no electrical power supply or the power supply is inadequate.
The fuse in the measuring head is faulty.
The electronic module is faulty.Recommended Repairs
Inspect the electrical connectors for good condition. Look for loose connections and corrosion. Inspect the wiring for fraying and pinch points.Expected ResultThe connections and the wiring are in proper condition.ResultsOK - The connections and the wiring are in proper condition. Proceed to Step 2.Not OK - The connections and/or the wiring are not in good condition.RepairRepair the faulty connections and/or wiring. Replace the components, if necessary.

Electrical plug
Disconnect the electrical plug from the base plate. Check the power supply between terminals 1 and 2 in the receptacle for the plug.Expected ResultThe power supply is between 18 to 30 volts.ResultsOK - The power supply is within the correct tolerance. Proceed to Step 3.Not OK - The power supply is not within the correct tolerance.RepairDetermine the cause of the electrical malfunction. Correct the condition. Make sure that the electrical power supply maintains a minimum of 18 volts to the detector.
Remove the fuse from the measuring head. For instructions, see this Testing and Adjusting, "Repair Procedure" section. Check the fuse for electrical conductivity.Expected ResultThe fuse is in good condition.ResultsOK - The fuse is in good condition. Reinstall the fuse. Proceed to Step 4.Not OK - The fuse is faulty.RepairInstall a new fuse. For instructions, see this Testing and Adjusting, "Repair Procedure" section.
Reconnect the electrical plug. Check the power supply at the socket for the fuse.Expected ResultThe power supply at the socket for the fuse is between 18 to 30 volts.ResultsOK - The power supply is within the correct tolerance. The electronic module is faulty. Replace the electronic module. For instructions, see this Testing and Adjusting, "Repair Procedure" section.Not OK - The power supply is not within the correct tolerance. There is an electrical malfunction between the electrical plug and the socket for the fuse.RepairDetermine the cause of the electrical malfunction. Make repairs, as needed.
