Transmission hydraulic control valve can be removed when the transmission is in the machine. 1. Remove cover assembly (1) and gasket from the transmission case. 2. Remove bolt and washer (2). Remove sleeves (3) from the case and hydraulic control valve. Remove the O-ring seals from the sleeves. 3. Remove adapter (4) and spring from the case. 4. Install a 3/8"-16 NC forged eyebolt (5) in the sleeve as shown. Remove the sleeve. Remove the O-ring seals from the sleeve.5. Remove the four 3/8" bolts that hold the hydraulic control valve to the planetary. 6. Install tool (A) as shown. Fasten a hoist to the hydraulic control valve. Remove transmission hydraulic control valve (6). The weight of the hydraulic control valve is 92 lb. (42 kg).Install Transmission Hydraulic Controls
1. Install tool (A) on the hydraulic control valve as shown. Fasten a hoist to the hydraulic control valve. Put transmission hydraulic control valve (1) in position on the planetary. Install the bolts that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 35 3 lb.ft. (48 4 N m). 2. Install O-ring seals (2) on the sleeve.3. Install sleeve (3) in the case and hydraulic control valve. 4. Install spring (4) and adapter (5) in the case. 5. Install O-ring seals (6) on the sleeves.6. Install sleeves (7) in the case and hydraulic control valve. Install the washer and bolt that hold the sleeves to the hydraulic control valve. 7. Install gasket (9) and cover assembly (8) on the case.Disassemble Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve
start by:a) remove transmission hydraulic control valve 1. Remove twenty-six bolts (1) and washers.2. Remove manifold (2) from the valve group. 3. Remove valve group (3) from the plate. 4. Remove two detent assemblies (4) from each side of the valve group. 5. Remove two pins (5) and stops (6) from the valve body. 6. Remove direction control valve spool (7) from the valve body.7. Remove speed control valve spool (8). 8. Remove cover (9) from the valve body. 9. Remove spring (10) and valve spool.
Retainer ring is under spring pressure.
10. Remove spring from the retainer. Remove retainer ring from valve spool (11). Remove retainer (12) and two springs from the valve spool. 11. Remove piston (13) and two springs from the valve body. 12. Remove springs (14) and shims from piston. 13. Remove valve spool assembly (15) from the valve body. If necessary, remove dowel and stop from the valve body.
Retainer ring is under spring pressure.
14. Remove slug (16), retainer ring, retainer, spring and ball from the valve spool. 15. Remove dowel (17) and remove stop from valve body. 16. Remove valve spool (21), slug (20) and spring (19). If necessary, remove the dowel (18) and stop from behind the spool. 17. Remove plate (22) from the valve group. 18. Remove bolt (23). Remove neutralizer valve spool (25) and spring (24) from the valve body.Assemble Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve
1. Install spring (2) and valve spool (3) in neutralizer valve body (1). Install
