Start By:a. remove drum assembly (front) 1. Remove two nuts and bolts (1) and clamps (2) from both sides of the yoke. Move the hose assemblies out of the way. 2. Position wooden blocks under the machine as shown. Attach a suitable hoist to the yoke. Raise the yoke, and remove the two stands that were installed during the drum assembly removal. Lower the machine onto the wooden blocks. 6. Attach lifting straps and a hoist to yoke (3) as shown.7. Remove four bolts (6) and the shims from plate (5). The shims are located between the yoke and plate. Put identification marks on the shims for installation purposes.8. Remove two bolts (4), and install two M24 × 3.0 guide bolts. Remove remaining two bolts (4) and the shims. Put identification marks on the shims for installation purposes.9. Use two persons to remove plate (5) from the yoke and guide bolts. The weight of the plate is 36 kg (79 lb).10. Remove yoke (3) from the machine. The weight of the yoke is approximately 817 kg (1800 lb). 11. If necessary, remove bearings (7) from yoke (3). 12. If necessary, remove bearing race (8) from plate (5). The following steps are for the installation of the yoke.13. Install bearing race (8) in plate (5).14. Install bearings (7) on yoke (3).15. Use lifting straps and a hoist to position yoke (3) in the steering pivot.16. Use two persons to position plate (5) on the yoke and guide bolts. Install the original amount of shims and eight bolts (4) and (6) that hold it.17. Refer to Step 8 in the topic "Remove & Install Drum Assembly" and position suitable stands under the yoke. Remove the wooden blocks from under the machine and remove the hoist and lifting straps.18. Position the hose assemblies, and install clamp (2) and two nuts and bolts (1) on both sides of the yoke. After installation of the drum assembly, the clearance between the vertical bushings, vertical pins, horizontal pins and bushings must be checked.
