Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, all hoses and all tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: The brake accumulator charging valve is located on the left side of the machine under the platform.

Disconnect four hose assemblies (1) and (4) from accumulator charging valve (6) .
Disconnect two tube assemblies (2) and (5) from accumulator charging valve (6) .
Disconnect electrical connector (3) .
Remove two bolts on the back side of the support which holds the accumulator charging valve (6). Remove accumulator charging valve (6) .Installation Procedure

Install accumulator charging valve (6). Install the two bolts which hold the accumulator charging valve (6) in place.
Connect electrical connector (3) .
Connect two tube assemblies (5) and (2) to accumulator charging valve (6) .
Connect four hose assemblies (4) and (1) to accumulator charging valve (6) .End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
