Reports have been received from the field of erratic shifting in the transmission and derated engine rpm. Insufficient data was being provided to the torque converter speed sensor from the torque converter yoke.Solution

Operate the machine in a forward direction and use the electronic technician (ET) in order to monitor the torque converter output speed. If the ET indicates a negative speed, remove the torque converter yoke. Inspect the narrow tooth profile that is machined into the yoke. The measurement of the narrow tooth profile should be greater than 3.03 mm (0.12 inch). If the measurement of the narrow tooth profile is less than 3.03 mm (0.12 inch), the yoke should be replaced.
