Remove the rear suspension cylinder.
Remove the charging valve. Note: The rear suspension cylinders differ from the left side to the right side. The cylinder assemblies are not interchangeable. Follow the disassembly procedure in order to disassemble both suspension cylinders.
In order to prevent possible personal injury, remove the nitrogen charge before the disassembly of the front suspension cylinder.
High pressure cylinder. Do not remove any parts until pressure has been relieved or personal injury may occur.
Ensure that the nitrogen has been discharged from the suspension cylinder. Refer to Special Instruction, SEHS9411, "Servicing the Suspension Cylinders for Off-Highway Trucks".

Remove grease fittings (1) and grease fittings (2).
In order to prevent possible personal injury, use a suitable fixture to support the weight of the suspension cylinder. Do not attempt to stand the suspension cylinder on end without the use of a suitable support. Failure to use a suitable support fixture could result in injury or death to personnel in this area.
Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to place the rear suspension cylinder in a vertical position. Support the rear suspension cylinder with a suitable fixture. The weight of the rear suspension cylinder is approximately 470 kg (1036 lb).

Section A-A
Remove bolts (3), plates (4), and O-ring seals (5).

Use a suitable lifting device in order to remove rod assembly (6) and head assembly (8) from cylinder assembly (7). The weight of rod assembly (6) and head assembly (8) is approximately 237 kg (522 lb). The weight of cylinder assembly (7) is approximately 233 kg (514 lb).

Remove wear ring (9), plate (10), and ball (11) from rod assembly (6).
Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to remove head assembly (8) from rod assembly (6). The weight of head assembly (8) is approximately 44 kg (97 lb).

Remove O-ring seal (12), backup ring (13), wear sleeve (14), seal (15), backup ring (16), and lip seal (17).

Section B-B
Remove retaining rings (18) from rod assembly (6).
Use a suitable press in order to remove bearing assembly (19) from rod assembly (6).

Repeat Step 9 through Step 10 for cylinder assembly (8).
