The space between the body and the frame becomes a zero clearance area when the body is lowered. Failure to install the retaining cable can result in injury or death to personnel working in this area.

Install O-ring seal (10) .

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to install differential and bevel gear (7) . The weight of differential and bevel gear (7) is approximately 1184 kg (2610 lb).

Install spacers (9) and bolts (8) . Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 430 60 N m (317 44 lb ft).

Connect hose assemblies (6) .

Install O-ring seal (5) . Install pin (4) .
Use Tooling (C) to measure from the top of pin (4) to the rear axle housing. Record the measurement and subtract .050 .020 mm (0.0020 0.0008 inch) in order to determine the required thickness shims (3) .
Install shims (3) . Install cover (2) and bolts (1) .End By:
Install the transmission and transfer gears.
Install the axle shafts.
