Adaptable to: R2900-101 to 167Reference: Service Magazine; February 28, 1998, tilted, Programmable Transmission Control is Now Available for R2900 L.H.D.'s.A new 1601832 Flash File is now available for the R2900 LHD with the programmable 1380425 and 1451855 Transmission Control Group.The new 1601832 Flash File will permit the programming of the maximum forward gears, maximum reverse gears, quick shift function and ride control. The programmable transmission control group is effective with R2900-147. Procedure:R2900-150 to 167.Proceed to Step 4.R2900-132 to 150Proceed to Step 3.R2900-114 to 131Proceed to Step 2.R2900-101 to 113Proceed to Step 1. If Service Magazine article January 31, 1997 titled Options Plugs Available to Change the Transmission Speed Configurations has been carried out, proceed to Step 2. 1. Remove the 4 pin options plug from the cab harness and attach the 1028805 6 Pin Options Plug to the cab harness as detailed in chart A for the wiring details.2. Replace the non programmable transmission control group with the new 1601758 Transmission Control Group (Programmable). 3. Install the new data link harness to the cab wiring harness as detailed in chart B.4. Install the new flash file.5. Install 9EL8094 Option Plug for wheel steer machines and 9EL8102 Option Plug for STIC steer machines. On all R2900 L.H.D. machines use either the 1394166 Cable with the 1DE2266 Communications Cable Adaptor or the 7X1570 Cable only to flash the transmission control group.
