If a coolant leak is found, follow the procedure below.

Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, Exhaust Manifold - Remove and Install for the correct procedure.Note: Plug and cap all open ports and tube assemblies.

If necessary, remove the assembly of dipstick tube. Remove bolts (2) from bracket (3). Remove bracket (3) and tube assembly (1) from the cylinder head. Loosen nut (4) and remove tube assembly (1). Remove seal (5) from tube assembly (1).Note: Identify the position and orientation of the tube assembly.Note: Plug and cap all open ports and the tube assembly.

Make a note of the depth of the plug in the cylinder head. Use a suitable tool with a soft face hammer to apply a force to the bottom of the plug. Refer to illustration 3. Use suitable pliers to remove the plug. Refer to illustration 4.
Ensure that the recess in the cylinder head is free from sealant, clean, and free from damage.
Apply Tooling (A) inside the recess in the cylinder head.
Obtain a new 343-4295 Plug. Apply Tooling (A) to the new plug. Use a suitable tool and press to install the new plug into the correct position in the cylinder head. Ensure that the new plug is installed to the correct depth inside the cylinder head. The correct installation depth of the plug is between 0.5 to 2.0 mm (0.01969 to 0.07874 inch). Remove any residue around the outside of the plug.
Install the exhaust manifold. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, Exhaust Manifold - Remove and Install for the correct procedure.

If necessary, install the assembly of the dipstick tube. Install a new seal (5) to tube assembly (1). Apply Tooling (B) to nut (4). Install the tube assembly (1) to the engine oil pan. Loosely tighten nut (4). Position tube assembly (1) and bracket (3) to the cylinder head. Loosely install bolts (2) to bracket (3).
Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 44 N m (32 lb ft). Tighten nut (4) to a torque of 18 N m (159 lb in).
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
Start the engine. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, Starting the Engine for the correct procedure. Check for the engine for leaks.
