When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
0R3841, 0R4446, and 0R4447 Remanufactured Cylinder Packs manufactured on or between 01 May 2009 and 05 July 2009 for various 3508, 3512, and 3516 engines may have been shipped with blast media contamination.
ACTION REQUIRED
1. Inspect dealer inventory for 0R3841, 0R4446, and 0R4447 Remanufactured Cylinder Packs.
2. Determine if any 0R3841, 0R4446, and 0R4447 Remanufactured Cylinder Packs in dealer parts stock have date codes on or between D01M05Y09 and D05M07Y09.
Refer to Image1 for the location and an example of the Date Code. The date code is displayed using a DDMMYY (day, month, year) format. 01Jun2009 is represented in Image1.
- If the date codes on the 0R3841, 0R4446, and 0R4447 Cylinder Packs ARE NOT on or between the dates of D01M05Y09 and D05M07Y09 (01May2009 - 05Jul2009), mark the packaging to indicate that the parts have been inspected according to PI7#### / REBE5449 (this program number), and return the parts to dealer parts stock.
- If the date codes on the 0R3841, 0R4446, and 0R4447 Cylinder Packs ARE on or between the dates of D01M05Y09 and D05M07Y09 (01May2009 - 05Jul2009), remove the parts from dealer parts stock.

SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all parts removed from dealer parts stock. 0.5 hours will be allowed for each cylinder pack inspected and removed from dealer parts stock.
PARTS DISPOSITION
A Send-It-Back parts return request will be generated when the warranty claim is filed with this program number (PI7####) as the part causing failure.
