(11) Fill valve The duplex oil filter system enables you to change the oil filter elements while the engine is running.During normal operation, the control valve should be in the "Main Run" position. In this position, the oil is cleaned by main oil filter elements (1) in main oil filter housing (5) and the filtered oil will move check valve (3) to the right. This will close the passage in the auxiliary oil filter housing. In this position, auxiliary oil filter element (4) can be changed after the oil pressure is released and the auxiliary oil filter housing is drained.When control valve lever (8) is pulled out to the "Auxiliary Run" position, the oil will be cleaned by auxiliary oil filter element (4). The filtered oil will now move check valve (3) to the left. This will close the passage in the main oil filter housing. In this position, main oil filter elements (1) can be changed after the oil pressure is released and the main oil filter housing is drained.After the oil filter elements in either oil filter housing have been changed, the oil filter housing must be filled in order to maintain constant oil pressure when the flow of oil is directed from one oil filter housing to the other oil filter housing.To fill either oil filter housing with oil, open fill valve (11) for a minimum of five minutes. This will direct the oil through a small line in order to fill the empty oil filter housing.
