Description of Change: A new protective sleeve is available for the Hydrax actuator shaft. The new sleeve will provide additional actuator shaft protection in applications which allowairborne debris to accumulate on the actuator shaft. This additional protection will prevent damage to the actuator shaft seal. A damaged actuator shaft seal can result in hydraulic fluid leakage.Adaptable To: The new 191-6073 Sleeve is adaptable to all applications that have the Hydrax System. The illustration shows the location of an installed 191-6073 Sleeve .191-6073 Sleeve Installation Procedure

Shut down the engine. Remove the power supply fuse from the Engine Supervisory System (ESS) panel.
Remove the existing steel actuator shaft protective covers.
Disconnect the linkage (7) at the actuator end.
Remove the clevis (6) and the position indicator (2) from the end of the actuator shaft.
Install the 191-6073 Sleeve (5) on the actuator shaft as the illustration shows. Stretch the sleeve (5) over the actuator mounting nut (4). The other end of the sleeve will fit over the flats on the shaft end. The flats are just below the threaded tip of the shaft.
Install the shaft position indicator (2). Install the clevis (6). Install the linkage (7) .
Install the steel actuator shaft protective covers.
Start the engine.Maintenance
The 191-6073 Sleeve should be inspected after 5,000 hours of operation. Replace the 191-6073 Sleeve if a new sleeve is needed.
