Diagnostic Trouble Code for Engine Overspeed

E362-1     Engine Overspeed : Level 1     The engine has exceeded 3000 rpm for 0.6 seconds.
There are no diagnostic trouble codes for the speed/timing sensors.
The engine has been running for at least 3 seconds.    
E362-3     Engine Overspeed : Level 3     The engine has exceeded 3100 rpm for 0.6 seconds.
There are no diagnostic trouble codes for the speed/timing sensors.
The engine has been running for at least 3 seconds.
   The Electronic Control Module (ECM) limits the flow of fuel in order to prevent the engine speed from exceeding 3000 rpm. When the engine speed has dropped to less than 2800 rpm, the code will be reset.The following operating conditions can cause the engine speed to exceed this value:
Use of an incorrect fuel
Combustible gases in the air inlet for the engineIf the engine speed exceeds 3000 rpm for 0.6 seconds, an E362-1 code is logged. If the engine speed exceeds 3100 rpm for a further 0.6 seconds, an E362-3 code is logged. Factory passwords are required in order to clear the codes. No troubleshooting is required.The history of engine overspeeds can be viewed on the electronic service tool.
