1. Remove the guard assembly from the left side of the engine. 2. Use tool (A) to remove the oil filter from the base. 3. Remove the bolts and clip that hold inlet tube assembly (1) to the cylinder block. Remove the bolts that hold outlet tube assembly (2) to the cylinder block. Remove both tube assemblies from the oil base filter.
Later Machines Illustration B54342X1 shows how tube assemblies (1) and (2) on later machines are fastened to the cylinder block. 4. Remove the four bolts to remove oil filter base (4) from the engine oil cooler.5. Make a replacement of O-ring seals (3) if necessary.6. Make sure O-ring seals (3) are in place and put oil filter base (4) in position on the engine oil cooler. Install the four bolts to hold the base.7. Make sure the O-ring seals for the inlet and outlet tube assemblies are in place. Install the tube assemblies in the oil filter base and on the cylinder block. 8. Install a new oil filter (5). Follow the instructions on the filter for the correct installation procedure.9. Install the left side guard assembly on the engine.Disassemble Oil Filter Base
START BY:a) remove oil filter base 1. Remove the bolts (1) and covers (2) for the bypass valves.2. Remove the springs and plungers.Assemble Oil Filter Base
1. Install plunger (4), spring (3), cover (2) and bolts (1) of bypass valve for oil cooler in oil filter base.2. Install plunger (7), spring (6), cover (5) and bolts of bypass valve for oil filter in oil filter base.END BY:a) install oil filter base
