Personal injury or death can result from sudden work tool movement.Sudden movement of the work tool can cause injury to persons near the work tool.To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the work tool is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the work tool.
Prepare the Machine
Follow the below procedure to prepare the machine for the GNNS mast bracket installation:
Park the machine on a hard level surface.
Apply parking brake.
Turn the engine key to the OFF position.
Isolate the electrical system by turning the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Attach a "Do Not Operate" warning tag or a similar warning tag to the start switch or to the controls before you service the equipment. These warning tags are available from your Caterpillar dealer.Required Parts
The required parts for the installation of the new 3D mast brackets are listed in Table 1.

Follow the below procedure to install the new LH and RH covers with the GNSS mast brackets.

(B) 526-2620 Sound Suppression Cover
Remove bolt assemblies (A) (six to eight bolts depending on the machine configuration) securing sound suppression cover (B) (LH cover). Save bolt assemblies (A).

Remove sound suppression cover (B) (LH cover).

Install new sound suppression cover (1) (LH cover) with GNSS mast brackets in place of sound suppression cover (B) (LH cover), using bolt assemblies (A) (six to eight bolts depending on the machine configuration) saved in Step 1.

Remove four bolt assemblies (C) securing sound suppression cover (D) (RH cover). Save bolt assemblies (C).

Remove sound suppression cover (D) (RH cover).

Install new sound suppression cover (2) (RH cover) with GNSS mast brackets in place of sound suppression cover (D) (RH cover), using four bolt assemblies (C) saved in Step 4.
