Remove the shell assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Shell Assembly - Remove".

Use Tooling (A) in order to stabilize shell assembly (1) .

Attach nylon lifting slings to hydraulic cylinder (2) and a hoist. Remove pin assembly (3) in order to remove hydraulic cylinder (2) from shell assembly (1). The weight of hydraulic cylinder (2) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).

Use Tooling (B) in order to remove retaining ring (4) .

Put hydraulic cylinder (2) in a shop press and install Tooling (C) in order to remove bearing (5) (not shown) from the rod end of hydraulic cylinder (2) .
Repeat Step 3 through Step 4 in order to remove the bearing from the head end of hydraulic cylinder (2) .Installation Procedure

Put hydraulic cylinder (2) in a shop press and install Tooling (C) in order to install bearing (5) (not shown) to the rod end of hydraulic cylinder (2) .

Use Tooling (B) in order to install retaining ring (4) .
Repeat Steps 1 through Step 2 in order to install the bearing to the head end of hydraulic cylinder (2) .
