BULLDOZER, TRACK-TYPE TRACTOR,
Information:
Identify all lines and wires for installation purposes.1. Remove ground strap (3). Disconnect wire harnesses (2). Remove two bolts (1) from the mounts at the rear of the cab.
View from under cab of four lines (5). Two of the four lines (5) are heater hoses that go to the heater core in the cab. The other two lines (5) (front) are refrigerant lines to the air conditioner in the cab.
When disconnecting the two heater hoses (5) (the two lines at the rear of the cab, shown in Photo #C37778P1), be sure the machine has been allowed to cool. At operating temperature, the heater hoses are hot and under pressure. Hot water causes burns.
Always wear goggles when working on air conditioning systems. The system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. Escaping Freon-12 (C C12 F2 Dichloro Difluoro Methane) can cause freezing of human flesh.Do not smoke while working on air conditioning systems. Inhaling Freon-12 through any smoking material, although not toxic or flammable, can generate phosgene gas and cause violent illness. Also, heat must never be applied to a charged system. See Air Conditioning And Heating Service Manual, Form No. SENR3334, for more information on removal and installation of lines and refrigerant from the system.
2. Release the pressure in the air conditioning system. See the topic, Purging The System, in Air Conditioning And Heating Service Manual, Form No. SENR3334.3. Disconnect three brake control cables (4) from the brake control valve. Disconnect four lines (5) from under the cab.4. Disconnect three lines, clipped together (6) from under the cab. Disconnect four lines (7) (three clipped together and one other) from under the cab.5. Disconnect one line (8) from the hand metering unit (under cab).6. Disconnect the line from each steer neutralizer valve to the hand metering unit.7. Disconnect two control cables (9).8. Disconnect cable (10) as follows: a. Move mat (12) away from pedal (13). Remove the set screw that fastens pedal (13) to pin (11). Remove pedal (13). b. Remove four bolts (14) and let box (15) rest on the frame. 9. Disconnect the other end of line (16) at the hand metering unit. Disconnect line (17) from under the cab.10. Remove the two bolts that fasten the cab to the frame (under the front of the cab). 11. Fasten a lifting device to cab (18) and raise the cab slowly from the frame. Check to be sure all lines, cables and clamps are removed. The weight of the cab is approximately 362 kg (800 lb). 12. When the cab is raised about a foot, put the control cables in a loop (19) under the cab so they do not interfere with the removal. The following steps are for the installation of the cab. 13. As the cab is lowered into position, uncoil the control cables (19) from under the cab.14. Lower the cab onto its mounts and install the bolts that fasten the cab at the front mounts. 15. Install bolts (1) at
