Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine.
Injury to personnel can result if they are not in the operator's view. Allow only essential personnel near the machine, and make sure the personnel are in the operator's view when testing, to prevent injury. Make sure checks are done in an open area.

Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.
Lift the screed and fully retract the screed extenders. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the tractor for this procedure.
Lower the screed to the ground. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the tractor for this procedure.
Stop the engine. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the tractor for this procedure.

Unlatch and open deck plate access door (1) .

Remove two bolts (2) on generator relay panel. Remove cover (3) .
Start the engine.
Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature on the display on the instrument panel. Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 50 5 °C (122 10 °F).
Start the machine. Start the generator. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the tractor for these procedures.Note: The screed heaters will be operating for the remainder of the test.
Set Tool (A) to read AC volts.

Using the probes of Tool (A), measure the voltage at each of four terminal blocks (4).
For each terminal block, measure the voltage differential between terminal "2" and terminal "6".
For each terminal block, measure the voltage differential between terminal "4" and terminal "8".
The voltage measured in Step 11 through Step 13 should be 230 10 V AC. The voltage measured should be the same for each terminal block.
If the voltage difference between any of the terminal blocks is more than 3 V, then do the following:
Troubleshoot the circuit breakers and the generator. Reference applicable paver manual.
Repeat the test.
If the voltage is outside the specified range, then do the following:
Troubleshoot the circuit breakers and the generator. Reference applicable paver manual.
Repeat the test.
If the voltage is inside the specified range, go to Step 15.
Stop the generator. Stop the engine.
Replace cover (3). Replace two bolts (2). Close deck plate access door (1) .
